The new model joins the SUV segment of the Seat family as the little brother of the Ateca. It is manufactured exclusively in Martorell, Spain. The new model is the Spanish manufacturer's first model based on the A0 platform in the compact crossover market segment.
Compact and versatile
The Arona is 4.138 m long, 79 mm longer than the new Ibiza. The two models differ even more in height. Here, the Arona towers over the Ibiza by 99 mm. As a result, it offers more headroom at the front and rear - but above all a larger trunk with a load volume of 400 liters.
Various equipment and color variants
Like the Leon, Ateca and Ibiza, the new Arona is available in the Reference, Style, XCELLENCE and FR equipment variants. In terms of color, the Arona is divided into two differently painted sections: the lower body on the one hand and the roof and the A and C pillars on the other. The roof is available in gray, black, orange or the same color as the body. There are a total of 68 possible color combinations.
Motorization
The entry-level variant is the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI with 95 hp in combination with a five-speed manual transmission. The same engine is also available in a power step up to 115 hp and in combination with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG). And finally, there is the new four-cylinder TSI engine with 150 hp, which is available exclusively with the FR equipment variant and is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. On the diesel unit side, there is the 1.6 TDI, with a choice of 95 hp or 115 hp. In mid-2018, the 90 hp 1.0 TSI engine powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) will also be available for the Arona.
