VW: First pictures of the next ID.3
FORECAST Next spring, Volkswagen will launch the new ID.3. With the second generation of the compact electric car, the Wolfsburg-based company is continuing the success story of the ID family.
To date, more than half a million ID models based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB) have been delivered worldwide. In order to meet the high demand from customers, the all-electric compact car will be built not only in Zwickau and Dresden, but also at the main plant in Wolfsburg from next year.
Value, design and sustainability
Imelda Labbé, Board Member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales at Volkswagen: "The new ID.3 confirms our claim to value, design and sustainability. It is more mature, the materials in the interior are of higher quality. Numerous suggestions from customers have been incorporated and implemented as product improvements and additions to the standard equipment."
Easier charging experience in the new ID.3
The new ID.3 is supplied with the latest software generation. This improves system performance and is able to receive updates over-the-air. The standard equipment has also been enhanced.
A 12-inch display as well as the removable luggage compartment floor and the center console with two cup holders are now standard. Functions such as Plug & Charge and the intelligent e-route planner make the charging experience easier.
The road to automated driving
Kai Grünitz, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management: "The ID.3 shows how we are living up to our claim of offering high-quality technologies and innovations right up to the compact class. This is reflected in new comfort and assistance systems. With the use of swarm data in the new Travel Assist, we are taking the next step on the road to automated driving."
Customers in Switzerland can already order the pre-configured Life, Business, Style and Tour equipment lines. The starting price of the ID.3 Life is 42,800 Swiss francs. The first deliveries are expected to be possible from the fourth quarter of 2023.
