Three equipments
It is offered in the three classic equipment versions Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. Pre-sales of the special Polo Beats model with a 300-watt sound system and the natural gas variant will also start. The sporty top model Polo GTI with 200 hp / 147 kW will follow by the end of the year. The latest infotainment generation with display sizes of 8.0 inches is available for the classic. Volkswagen also offers a new generation of Active Info Display in the Polo, featuring intense colors and contrasts. Functionality and operability of these digital instruments are a first in the small car segment, according to the manufacturer.
Five engine variants
Five engine variants can be ordered at the start of presales in Switzerland: In addition to the two 1.0-liter gasoline engines with 65 hp / 48 kW and 75 hp / 55 kW, a 1.0-liter TSI with 95 hp / 70 kW and a 1.0 TSI with 115 hp / 85 kW will also be offered, as well as a natural gas variant with 90 hp / 66 kW. All units are equipped with a start-stop system and recuperation mode. From an output of 95 hp, the combination with a dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) is also possible. The price of the new Polo starts at 16,800 Swiss francs for the 1.0 l with 65 hp / 48 kW.
