For 20 seconds 255 HP and a maximum torque of full 520 Nm are available from now on, with which overtaking maneuvers succeed better and more surely. The software upgrade, which can be ordered from any official Swiss Volvo dealer and also installed at a later date, is available for the Volvo XC60 and the entire Volvo 90 family.
D5 diesel engine also with 255 hp output
The performance optimization increases the output of the D5 diesel engine from 235 hp to 240 hp, i.e. by plus five hp. Torque increases by 20 Nm from 480 Nm to 500 Nm. During the overboost, 255 hp and a maximum torque of 520 Nm are now available. The overboost software not only increases power and torque, it also improves the response of the accelerator pedal and transmission. The Geartronic automatic shifts even faster and more precisely.
Overboost upgrade via service download
The cost is 1498 Swiss francs (plus cantonal inspection fees). Those who have already opted for the Polestar Performance Optimization of their D5 diesel engine in model year 2018 (Volvo XC60 and XC90) or in model year 2019 (Volvo XC60 and complete 90 family) will benefit from a free overboost upgrade via service download.
