The Volvo S60 sits comfortably on the road. Its exterior and clear design lines are typically Scandinavian.
The first models available in Switzerland include the gasoline T6 AWD R-Design and the plug-in hybrid T8 Twin Engine Polestar Engineered. We have already made initial contact with both. What they have in common is the 2-liter gasoline engine with turbocharging and supercharging, which delivers 316 and 328 hp respectively, and in the Polestar-optimized hybrid model even 415 hp together with an electric motor.
The Swedes drive very sporty
The chassis with the T8 Polestar-specific adaptive dampers and the very precise steering were very pleasing. It takes some time to get used to the brakes, because the calipers grip mercilessly even with low pedal force. Despite the sporty tuning, both models offer good ride comfort. The 8-speed automatic transmission also contributes to this; the gear changes are practically imperceptible.
Sales launch in Switzerland not until spring
Since the gasoline T6 AWD weighs significantly less than the plug-in hybrid T8 Twin Engine, it feels even more manageable and also offers plenty of temperament with 400 Nm and 316 hp. However, electric driving is only possible with the plug-in hybrid; the 10.4 kWh battery supplies power for around 40 kilometers.
Diesel versions are no longer available in the new S60; after all, they are no longer in demand or even allowed in the major markets of the USA and China.
Because the first U.S.-made Volvo will not arrive in Switzerland until next spring, the importer is not yet able to name any prices.
