Volvo: C40 Recharge with E-drive and without leather 🎥

TWO-MOTOR COUPÉ The new Volvo C40 Recharge is the Swedes' second all-electric model after the XC40 Recharge. The crossover coupe is always equipped with two engines and all-wheel drive.

The top speed for the C40 is 180 km/h, as is now the case for all new Volvo models.

Volvo's new SUV coupe is called the C40 Recharge and is built on the CMA electric platform. A McPherson front axle and multi-link rear axle are combined with the 78 kWh battery underbody.

Two permanently operating synchronous motors on the axles drive all four wheels via a single-speed transmission. There is no shortage of power at any time, as the two electric motors deliver a combined 660 Nm and 300 kW. The electric SUV coupe thus accelerates to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, and the top speed is 180 km/h, as is now the case with all new Volvo models.

Decorative elements made from recycled plastic
The coupe roofline and the contrasting black roof with the two spoilers give the C40 a very sporty appearance. The front end bears a clad radiator grille in body color, and a typical feature of the pixel LED headlights is the Thors Hammer look.

The C40 Recharge is also the first model to do without leather in the interior. Volvo offers alternatives without animal skin for this. Decorative elements are partly made of recycled plastic, and carpets and other trim are made from recycled PET bottles. The headliner around the standard panoramic glass roof is also largely made of recycled material.

All driving-relevant information is clearly displayed on the 12.3-inch instrument cluster, and the Android Automotive infotainment system can be controlled via the tablet-like touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. An inductive charging system for the smartphone is also available.

Spurty all-wheel drive and one-pedal drive
The one-pedal drive makes driving comfortable, not only in the city, but also on the highway. Thanks to 660 Nm of maximum torque and a total output of 300 kW, the two electric motors never have a problem with the C40 in any situation, despite its 2.2 ton curb weight. Thanks to many assistance systems, the car is also hardly out of control.

Fast charging with 150 kW is done in 37 minutes
The range made possible by the 78-kWh battery is up to 420 kilometers. AC charging via the 11-kW on-board charger takes around eight hours, DC fast charging at 150 kW is completed in 37 minutes, and energy for 100 kilometers can be charged in ten minutes.

The new Volvo C40 Recharge will be available at dealers in Switzerland from December at prices starting at 61,900 Swiss francs.
