Volkswagen: Making the Bulli more fun

CLEAN SAVINGS From January 1, the new EU 6 AP emissions standard will apply to passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Bulli
The Multivan T6.1, which has been very successful in Switzerland, has been adapted to meet current emissions standards.

During the engine overhaul, the engineers at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles unceremoniously moved the exhaust gas purification system from the underbody close to the engine, combined it with a new turbocharger and double AdBlue injection.

The result: more than 50 percent lower nitrogen oxide emissions in the Multivan, Transporter, Caravelle and California, and on average half a liter less fuel per 100 kilometers. This makes the van even more fun to drive.

2.0-liter BiTurbo TDI comes with 204 hp
As a further innovation, the AdBlue tank capacity has been almost doubled to 27 liters. In addition, the 2.0-liter BiTurbo TDI uses a new injection system with a pressure of 2500 bar, which increases maximum engine output to 204 hp.

The new engine technology will first be used in the passenger car models with 150 hp TDI, with the commercial vehicle variants and all other performance levels to follow in stages.
