The technical update of the Passat, which has also been visually refined, fundamentally changes the bestseller: with the next-generation infotainment systems, the Volkswagen goes permanently online and brings new pioneering functions and services on board.
These include e assistance systems, further developed chassis and drive systems, and optimized driving dynamics.
Also on offer as Alltrack or GTE
The basic version is called "Basic". Above this is the medium "Business" level. The top equipment level is now called "Elegance". "Business" and "Elegance" can be ordered with R-Line customization.
In parallel with these versions, the Passat is again available as a stand-alone "Alltrack" (all-wheel drive with off-road capabilities) and as a "GTE" with a new generation of plug-in hybrid drive and a greater range of 55 kilometers.
Gasoline or diesel depending on demand
The new Passat is now available from VW partners in all variants, including the new Passat Alltrack and Passat GTE. The price for the base model Passat Variant with 150 hp TSI engine and manual transmission starts at 38 700 Swiss francs. The basic TDI version with 120 hp and 7-speed DSG transmission costs 38 700 francs.
Sporty Passat R-Line Edition
Volkswagen is launching a special Passat Variant R-Line Edition limited to 2000 units for the market launch. The high-tech all-rounder is painted in the new "Moonstone Gray" color. Numerous black features - above all the high-gloss black roof - contrast with this. The color black also dominates the interior: the driver and front passenger sit on R-Line sports seats; the center sections of the seating system are upholstered in fine nappa leather, the side bolsters in carbon leather.
In addition, the Limited Edition has almost all new technologies on board as standard. These include the "Digital Cockpit" and the glass-covered 9.2-inch "Discover Pro" navigation system with integrated SIM card (eSIM) and R-Line start screen. Prices start at 59,950 Swiss francs.
Test and experience 24 hours
The "24h test & experience" campaign was launched exclusively for the market launch: The new Passat can be tested for 24 hours, because only during a longer drive can the innovations be tried out as in everyday life. The Passat is the brand's model with the highest level of assistance systems currently available. The innovative combination of systems makes the Volkswagen, which is tailored to frequent drivers, more comfortable and safer than ever before.
