The new model will initially be launched as a rear-wheel drive model, with an all-wheel drive version to follow. Thanks in part to a cd value of 0.28, ranges of more than 500 kilometers (according to the WLTP standard) should be possible.
Equipment and prices for Switzerland have not yet been determined.
Battery cell production with green electricity
Like the ID.3, the Volkswagen ID.4 is produced CO2-neutrally in Zwickau in eastern Germany. This means that the energy-intensive battery cell production is carried out using 100 percent green electricity.
The ID.3 will also be manufactured at the Transparent Factory in Dresden in the future. The Emden and Hanover plants are also scheduled to start producing electric cars from 2022. The ID.4 will also be built in China and the USA at a later date.
