On a model of the ID Buzz AD, trade visitors can experience on screen how the autonomous transport of people and goods can be organized. Hamburg will be the first city in the world to use the robo-shuttles from VWN and Moia from 2025, with other major cities in Europe and the USA to follow.
Autonomous ridepooling system in Hamburg
Currently, VWN, Moia and U.S. technology company Argo AI, which developed the self-driving system, are already piloting their autonomous ridepooling system in Hamburg.
At its stand in Hall 5 of the Hamburg Exhibition Center (Galerie Mitte), Moia will be using an interactive simulation to demonstrate the contribution that self-driving shared cabs can make to the mobility revolution in large fleets.
Moia CEO Robert Henrich: "Moia currently has several hundred vehicles on the road. If the fleet is increased to 1,000 or more shuttles, ridepooling will play out its advantages to the full. The mobility offer for users increases, individual traffic is reduced, and local public transport benefits."
