The Areton will only go on sale in Switzerland in the Shooting Break station wagon version,
They come with a new LED light signature and revised front end. A plug-in hybrid drive will be offered for the Arteon for the first time. Volkswagen is not yet naming a purely electric range.
The top model in the range will be the Arteon R, which uses torque vectoring to distribute drive power between the axles and the rear wheels.
Load volume grew by 35 to 1632 liters
Thanks to its independent roof section, the Shooting Brake offers extra interior height at the front and rear. The rear seat backrest can be folded down asymmetrically as standard.
Behind the rear bench seat of the Arteon Shooting Brake, a 565-liter storage space is available when loaded up to the rear seat backrest and to the height of the luggage cover.
Loaded up to the backrests of the front seats, the load volume increases by 35 to 1632 liters. The load area is a maximum of 2.09 meters long in each case.
System for partially automated driving
A new feature in this model series is the optional Travel Assist. The system enables semi-automated driving over the speed range from zero to 210 km/h.
One component of Travel Assist is ACC with predictive cruise control. The automatic distance control reacts to speed limits, built-up areas, curves, traffic circles and intersections with adapted speeds.
Multifunction steering wheel with touch surfaces
Inside, the model series received a redesigned, cockpit landscape that was tuned to the charisma and exclusivity of the Arteon.
The controls are renewed with touch sliders for the automatic climate control and a multifunction steering wheel with touch surfaces.
Sound system from Harman/Kardon
Also new is the now wireless integration of apps via App-Connect Wireless for Apple Carplay and Android Auto, as well as an optional 700-watt sound system from Harman/Kardon. The ambient lighting can be set in 30 colors.
The prices have not yet been determined. The Swiss market launch is planned for fall 2020.
