The fifth-generation Toyota Prius presents itself with various innovations and thus opens a new chapter in its long history. The latest Prius - already generation five - is only available in Europe as a plug-in hybrid electric, but in this country it is called the Prius Plug-in Hybrid.

System performance now with 223 hp

The new Prius also boasts further improved hybrid technology. As Toyota's most powerful and efficient PHEV, it adds significantly more punch to the model range. The electric range is up to 86 kilometers thanks to the 13.6 kWh battery. This is sufficient for most daily trips. With more power and higher efficiency, the hybrid system now enables an even better driving experience. The 2-liter engine delivers 152 hp (112 kW), the e-machine 120 kW (160 hp), which adds up to a system output of 223 hp (164 kW).

Complete charge in four hours

The aerodynamic body shape that has characterized the Prius since its second generation has also been further developed. The silhouette resembles that of a coupe, the length has decreased by 46 millimeters, the height by 50 millimeters, and the wheels are now in 19-inch format.

The driver's gaze falls directly and easily on a 7-inch screen. The front camera and radar now see even further ahead, and the field of vision has also been extended to the sides. A traffic jam assistant makes driving in slow-moving traffic easier, and the semi-autonomous parking aid reduces parking stress. The battery can be fully charged at the wallbox in four hours.
