Toyota: This is the GR86 from Gazoo Racing 🎥
PUR DRIVING FUN The new GR86 is the third stand-alone model from Toyota's Gazoo Racing sub-brand. The new coupe provides easy entry into the GR portfolio and thus access to a special driving experience.
The chassis and suspension have been revised to optimize handling characteristics.
The Toyota GR86 is the further development of the GT86. It retains the classic concept with front engine and rear-wheel drive. The engine is a torquey four-cylinder boxer engine with now 2.4 liters displacement and a maximum torque of 250 Nm and a peak power of 234 hp.
The new model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. As gasoline consumption, Toyota quotes a WLTP range of 9.4 to 10.7 l/100 km before homologation is completed, i.e. CO2 emissions between 216 and 246 g/km. The final specifications will follow at the expected sales launch in April 2022.
Increased power and torque
Designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, the GR86 two-door remains true to the qualities that won new fans for Toyota's car culture with the GT86. Both the six-speed manual transmission and the automatic have been revised to reflect the increased power and torque.
The chassis and suspension have been revised to optimize handling characteristics. In addition, the torsional rigidity of the body has been increased by 50 percent. McPherson struts at the front and double wishbones at the rear guide the wheels, and a Torsen limited-slip differential and modified shock absorbers and springs ensure reliable traction when cornering.
