Toyota 50 Years Edition: five decades in Switzerland

In February 1967, a staff of ten started importing Toyota vehicles for Switzerland and the Principality of Lichtenstein in Urdorf. The models introduced in the first year were Corona 1600 S Coupé, Corona 1500 Station Wagon, Corona 1500 Sedan , Corolla 1100 and Crown 2300 (see gallery). After five years, the Toyota brand already occupied the fourth place on the local market and counted about 300 representatives in the country. To date, Toyota AG has imported and brought to customers about 936,700 vehicles. To mark the anniversary, the Swiss importer is now launching the "50 Years Edition" special model series. From January to December 2017, the focus will be on one Toyota model at a time.
The January model: Toyota Yaris Hybrid "50 Years Edition
The special series festival kicks off with the Yaris Hybrid compact car with extensive additional equipment and the Pop Orange color, which is available exclusively on this special series. The special model is limited to 50 units and features include heated front seats, cruise control, rearview camera, automatic 2-zone climate control, smart entry/start system for keyless opening, closing and starting, LED daytime running lights and alloy wheels. Together with other equipment features, this results in a customer advantage of 5,000 francs - the Yaris "50 Years Edition" is available at a price of 22,990 francs, including free service for 6 years / 60,000 kilometers and warranty for 3 years / 100,000 kilometers.
Toyota Switzerland offers the special models "50 Years Edition" exclusively via online sales. This gives the customer the opportunity to purchase a very specific serial number of the limited special model. For a binding reservation, Toyota charges the customer a deposit of 99 Swiss francs, which is then deducted from the purchase price. Interested parties can obtain information at www.toyota50.ch already today an insight. The sale starts on January 16, 2017 at 9 am.
As a second model, Toyota Switzerland is launching the Verso "50 Years Edition" from February 2017.
