Tesla: Model S packs over 1100 hp 🎥
THROUGHTACH It wants to be one of the fastest sedans in the world. Now Tesla has given the Model S, which was launched in 2012, a facelift for the second time and at the same time a new powertrain with over 1100 hp. Even the base Long Range version, the Tesla Model S is said to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds [...]
Even the basic Long Range version of the Tesla Model S is supposed to be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.
From the outside, the hatchback looks smoother and tidier and there are new rims; the interior is much more elegantly designed than before.
In the cockpit, the vertical tablet in the center is replaced by a 17.0-inch display in portrait mode, similar to the one in the Model 3 and Model Y.
Instead of a steering wheel, a lever like in an airplane
The new steering wheel looks like the control horn of an airplane. There are no longer steering column levers; the turn signals should be activated via the two buttons on the steering wheel.
The dashboard looks much more vertical; also, a lot of wood is now used. The rear seats have stronger bolsters, and there is also a display for the rear passengers.
From 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds
The theoretical performance of the Model S, which is available in three variants, is beyond reproach. The basic Long Range version is said to be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
The Plaid model with three engines and 750 kW (1020 hp) needs 2.1 seconds for the standard sprint according to factory specifications and manages 322 km/h.
Range up to 837 kilometers with Plaid +
And finally, there is the Plaid + model with over 810 kW (1100 hp) and acceleration that Tesla quotes at just under 2.1 seconds.
The ranges are said to be 663, 628 or 837 kilometers - assuming a very restrained driving style. Swiss prices start at 96,990 Swiss francs.
The Model X is also to receive a refreshed version, as Tesla has already confirmed - with the same exterior and interior changes. There will also be a Plaid+ version.
