Depending on the battery's state of charge, the driver can choose between the purely battery-electric E-mode, the sport mode for maximum performance and the hybrid mode. The latter regulates the interaction between the gasoline engine and the electric motor.
The electric motor draws its energy from a lithium-ion high-voltage battery installed in the vehicle floor. Like all models in this series, the Škoda Superb iV is manufactured at the Kvasiny plant. In the future, the components for plug-in hybrid models of the Volkswagen Group will also be built there.
First model with sustainable drive
The Superb iV is the first Škoda model to feature a plug-in hybrid drive. The Superb iV is powered by a 156 hp 1.4 TSI gasoline engine and an electric motor, the latter producing 85 kW. The maximum system output is therefore 218 hp.
Convenient charging while driving
The Škoda Superb iV meets the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard, with CO2 emissions of less than 40 g/km. The 13-kWh battery enables a purely electric and locally emission-free range of up to 56 kilometers. It can be recharged at a wallbox or while driving by the gasoline engine and brake energy recovery.
Assistance systems as needed
Škoda has upgraded the Superb with the model update. For the first time, Škoda has made full LED matrix headlights available in a production model. In addition, some new assistance systems are making their debut, such as Adaptive Distance Assist.
Side Assist has also been added to the top model and works up to a distance of 70 meters. In addition to the plug-in hybrid, there is a choice of two diesels and three gasoline engines covering a power range from 150 hp to 270 hp.
Refined equipment and plenty of space
A new front apron increases the Superb Combi's length by six millimeters to 4862 millimeters. Wheelbase, width and height remain unchanged.
In the interior, chrome applications, new seat covers and colored contrast stitching add fresh accents. With generous interior space and a trunk capacity of 660 liters in the Combi, the model continues to set standards in its vehicle class.
Prices and equipment for Switzerland for the Škoda Superb Combi have not yet been determined.
