SUSTAINABLE The Seat Leon with natural gas drive can be ordered. The Spaniard is now available as a gasoline engine (TSI), diesel engine (TDI), mild hybrid (eTSI), plug-in hybrid (e-HYBRID) or newly as a TGI that runs on compressed natural gas. The Seat Leon TGI sports tourer will soon also be available from Swiss dealers with natural gas drive.

The Leon TGI has a 1.5-liter TGI four-cylinder engine under the hood that produces 130 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The compact model has three CNG tanks with a total net capacity of 17.3 kilograms, giving it a range of up to 440 kilometers in natural gas mode without a refueling stop.

Automatic change to drive with gasoline
In the event that the CNG tanks do run low, the drive automatically switches to gasoline. The fuel comes from an additional 9-liter gasoline tank in the vehicle.

At the filling station, everything then works as simply as with all other vehicles in the range. There are now over 150 CNG filling stations in Switzerland.

Reduction of CO2 emissions by around 25 percent
The Leon TGI has a fuel consumption of 4.6 kilos of natural gas over 100 kilometers and CO2 emission values of 99 g/km. The new 1.5-liter TGI engine uses the Miller combustion process with a high compression ratio of 12.5, which increases its efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions.

A CNG vehicle reduces CO2 emissions by about 25 percent compared with a comparable gasoline-powered vehicle.

In addition to the ecological benefits, TGI technology also offers convincingly low costs per kilometer. In Switzerland, TGI technology saves around one third of fuel costs compared with gasoline or diesel engines.

Seat's Digital Cockpit is part of the equipment
The Leon TGI is offered in the Style and FR equipment variants. One special feature of the newcomer is that the Leon comes with Seat's Digital Cockpit at no extra charge, regardless of the equipment line.

The first model variant available is the five-door Leon in Style (from 32,700 Swiss francs) and the sporty FR version (from 34,100 Swiss francs).

The engine is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG).
