The launch of the GR SPORT is an example of how the successes of Toyota Gazoo Racing are being incorporated into production vehicles. Toyota's successful return to the 2017 World Rally Championship has already led to the development of the Yaris GRMN. This performance-tuned variant was limited to 400 units and sold out in a very short time.
The GR SPORT, presented as a world premiere in Paris, brings the influence of Gazoo Racing (GR) to the center of the Yaris equipment. It impresses with its sporty styling and lots of driving fun.
Sporty look and driving pleasure
The modifications to the chassis were inspired by the GRMN. They are intended to ensure optimum handling and driving feel. As in the GRMN, Sachs shock absorbers are used and the strength of the chassis has also been increased.
The new sports vehicle is 11 mm lower than the standard model, which makes it look more attractive and gives it even sportier handling. The distance between the wheel and mudguard is just 18 mm.
The Yaris GR SPORT will be available in the first half of 2019 as a 5-door version and with a 1.5-liter full hybrid system.
