Rolls-Royce: Rolling heaven on earth 🎥
CUSTOMIZED The third droptail coachbuild order for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is called Arcadia. A tribute to the shape, which took five months to assemble. The production of the wooden elements alone took 8000 hours.
The noble Briton is named after Arcadia, a place that was described as heaven on earth in ancient Greek mythology. The masterpiece was presented to the client at a private ceremony in Singapore.
Rolls-Royce CEO Chris Brownridge: "Rolls-Royce Coachbuild is an unrivaled concept for our brand in the luxury sector. Here, influential personalities work with our designers, engineers and craftsmen to bring unusual ideas to life. Together they create exquisite automobiles that not only become part of the client's personal story, but also contribute to the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars."
The nature of a Coachbuild design
Design Director Anders Warming adds: "Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail demonstrates the true nature of a coachbuilt design by completely changing the character of an automobile. Each Droptail order reflects a personal understanding and interpretation of the fundamental design. With the creation of this car, we once again demonstrate our comprehensive capabilities in the realization of Bespoke design."
Natural-looking two-tone coloring
To honor the droptail shape, the designers at Rolls-Royce Coachbuild developed a calm, natural-looking two-tone color scheme. The client's wish was to define a white that would evoke a special fascination when viewed closely under natural light. To achieve this, the main color is a white with aluminum and glass particles. This not only creates an effervescent shimmer, but also the illusion of an infinite depth of color.
Specific expectations of the customer
The interior reflects the style the client prefers in their homes and business premises. The color palette and material treatment should be recognizable as the client's signature. Wood was the focus of the interior because the client brought specific expectations regarding texture, grain, color and the richness of the material. Santos Straight Grain was chosen, a high-density hardwood with an extremely fine grain.
