Rinspeed: Oasis turns on the spot

Fortunately, Frank M. Rinderknecht, a car inventor from Zumik and owner of the development company Rinspeed, is not running out of ideas. At the CES computer trade show in Las Vegas in January 2017, he will present the next automotive design called Oasis. Environmentally friendly: The Oasis does not have a panoramic glass roof; instead, the roof is paved with solar cells, which makes a small contribution to a better energy balance.

The vehicle of the future is intended to combine a number of special solutions for inner-city mobility. As a special contrast to the hostile concrete deserts of the cities, the concept car even has a green mini-oasis in the interior. As befits a car of the future, the Oasis is purely electric. Another popular topic in the auto industry at present is the ability to drive autonomously, which is to be included in the car.

Living feeling: Instead of being walled in by sheet metal walls, passengers in the Oasis sit on comfortable-looking armchairs in a glass house flooded with light.

Rinspeed has not yet made any concrete statements on this, but a steering wheel can be seen on a concept drawing of the Oasis, which has been converted into a tray with cup holders on a second picture. It is probably possible to switch from manual to autonomous driving mode in the Oasis. Another special feature of the Oasis is its maneuverability. Thanks to the wide turning front wheels, it should even be possible to turn the car on the spot.
