French racer Charlotte Berton shows the new Twingo Electric in all its details.

The small Parisian is available in Switzerland from 18,900 Swiss francs. That works out like this: You can deduct 2000 electric bonus from Renault's new price of 20,900 francs. But that's not all.

Depending on the canton of residence of an interested party, he is entitled to a subsidy from the public promotion of electromobility. In Thurgau, this is a whopping 3500 francs. All details are here compiled.

Switzerland's most affordable electric car is available to order now.

Top speed is set at 135 km/h
Before the first drive around Ebikon, some data in advance: 60 kW (equivalent to 82 hp) output, rear-wheel drive and, according to the factory, a range of up to 190 kilometers in mixed driving. In the city, the range is 270 kilometers according to WLTP City.

The Chameleon Charger makes it possible to charge the Twingo Electric with various charging powers and amperages of up to 22 kW. Ideally, the electric Twingo is ready for another 80 kilometers after half an hour. After one hour, 84 percent of the battery capacity should be available.

The maximum torque is 160 Nm, and the top speed is limited to 135 km/h. Renault specifies 4.2 seconds for acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h.

Twingo
For the Swiss market launch in December, only the Vibes version will be available as a special series.

Generator supplies the energy to the battery
With this information, we go on a test drive. From the very first meter, the lively character of the Twingo Electric puts you in a good mood and makes you want more, mile after mile. Much more.

Handling is child's play, and the operation of the drive lever with three recuperation levels is quickly learned. But even when the brake is applied alone, the power electronics use the machine as a power-generating generator and supply energy to the battery. The highest level enables one-pedal driving.

Ideal for the city
Clearly, the car's territory is the city. Even in narrow streets, you can easily turn around or back up, and with a length of 3.61 meters, the small car fits into the tightest parking spaces.

Its seating surfaces turn out to be quite short and, as usual with minicars, the steering wheel cannot be adjusted in reach. But who sits behind the wheel for hours in such a car?

And it goes without saying that the back seat of a minicar is naturally quite cramped. Short distances can be driven by four people.

The special Vibes model for the market launch
For the Swiss market launch in December, only the Vibes version is available as a special series with exclusive metallic Orange Valencia paint, attractive 16-inch aluminum wheels, leather-look seat covers and matching strippings and decorative elements.

Orange dominates the interior
