A large part of the test program took place on race tracks such as the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit in Hockenheim. But the Cross Turismo was also tested extensively at test sites around the world - including Nardò in southern Italy - and in the Pyrenees.
The proving ground at the Weissach Development Center offered another off-road challenge in the form of the safari course. In total, the 998,361 test kilometers amounted to almost 25 circumnavigations of the equator.
Chassis with all-wheel drive and air suspension
A camouflaged Taycan Cross Turismo has been on a global test drive with media representatives since the beginning of the year. In just six weeks, this prototype is visiting the USA, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands and Germany.
The station wagon-like derivative has all the strengths of the sports sedan, a chassis with all-wheel drive and air suspension.
The car is a kind of Swiss army knife
Series Manager Stefan Weckbach: "The Cross Turismo is designed to deliver performance on the circuit on the one hand and to function on scree, mud and gravel on the other. The result is impressive. The Cross Turismo is a kind of Swiss Army knife on wheels up to 21 inches in size."
Performance and extended everyday usability
The Cross Turismo also completed around 325 hours in the Wind Tunnel storm. It combines e-performance with extended everyday usability and is aimed at customers with an active lifestyle.
