Porsche: Power injection for the 911 🎥
The top model in the legendary Porsche model series is the 911 Turbo S. The new 3.8-liter boxer engine with two turbochargers produces a massive 650 hp - 70 more than its predecessor. Porsche is now launching the top-of-the-line 911 as a Turbo S.
The maximum torque of the six-cylinder engine is 800 Newton meters (plus 50 Nm). The sprint from zero to 100 km/h is shortened to 2.7 seconds (minus 0.2 seconds) with the turbo-specific eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the top speed is 330 km/h.
Noticeably improved spurt
The leap in performance of the new generation becomes particularly clear when sprinting from a standstill to 200 km/h: here, the new 911 Turbo S takes a full second off its predecessor at 8.9 seconds. Thanks to the enhanced all-wheel drive, the transfer case can transmit significantly more torque. Up to 500 Newton meters reach the front wheels. The newly shaped pneumatically extendable front spoiler and the enlarged rear wing achieve a 15 percent higher downforce level.
Widened track widths
Due to the increased dynamics, the masses also grow. The body was widened by 4.5 centimeters at the front and two centimeters at the rear. The track widths have been increased by 4.2 and one centimeter respectively. The adaptive aerodynamics now include controlled cooling air flaps in the front.
The larger rear wing is designed for even more downforce. For the first time, the 911 Turbo S transmits its power via mixed tires: At the front, it rolls on 20-inch tires in the unique 255/35 dimension for the 911 Turbo and at the rear on 21-inch tires in 315/30. The new equipment options for the all-wheel-drive 911 include the Active Suspension Management sports suspension with ten-millimeter lowering and the sports exhaust system with adjustable flaps.
Less air resistance
The boxer engine is ventilated by a new intake manifold. For this purpose, the previous routing of process air and charge air cooling has been exchanged: Part of the process air now flows through the characteristic turbo air intakes in the rear side section.
In front of the air filters now located in the rear fenders, two additional air streams are added through the trunk lid grille. This gives the new 911 Turbo S four air intake points with a larger total cross-section and lower resistance.
Exclusive leather interior
The standard equipment includes full leather upholstery in Bi-Color and trim in Lightsilver with decorative trim in Carbon. There is also a choice of the new leather upholstery from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, which features a coordinated interplay of colors, materials, and individual finishes.
The seat backs of the 18-way sports seats are quilted in homage to the first 911 Turbo (Type 930). The center screen of the Porsche Communication Management System is now 10.9 inches. In addition, the GT sports steering wheel and the Sports Chrono Package with integrated track app are on board.
Porsche Swiss Package
The 911 Turbo S Coupé will be offered in Switzerland including country-specific equipment and VAT at a price of 271,600 Swiss francs, while the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet costs 288,500 Swiss francs.
