Porsche: This is the current Panamera 🎥
In mid-October, Porsche rolls out the Panamera model year 2021 in Switzerland. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, explained the new Panorama models.
As a result, the sports sedan accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. The top speed is stated by the factory at 315 km/h. Please also note the gallery.
In addition, the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid complements the plug-in hybrid range with a completely new drive system with 560 hp system output. The purely electric range has been increased by up to 30 percent compared with the previous hybrid models.
Record on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife
For the Turbo S, the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine has been fundamentally revised. To transfer power to the road in a controlled manner and maximize cornering performance, the three-chamber air suspension, active suspension management and roll stabilization including torque vectoring have been further optimized, among other things.
The top-of-the-range Panamera Turbo S has already demonstrated its performance on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife: Test driver Lars Kern completed the 20.832-kilometer lap in 7:29.81 minutes, setting an official record for vehicles in the luxury class category (AutoSprintCH reported).
Typical V8 sound is part of the equipment
Porsche has optimized the V8 biturbo engine of the GTS primarily in terms of its power delivery. With 480 hp and 620 Nm, it also delivers more than the predecessor model, which had 460 hp.
The power increases continuously up to near the rev limit. The power delivery is thus similar to that of a classic naturally aspirated sports car.
In addition, the new standard sports exhaust system uses asymmetrically designed rear silencers to bring out the classic V8 sound even more than before.
The Panamera and Panamera 4 now feature the familiar 2.9-liter V6 biturbo in all markets worldwide, which continues to deliver 330 hp and 450 Nm.
The 4S E-Hybrid is up to 298 km/h fast
In the revised Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, the 136-hp electric motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and the 2.9-liter V6 biturbo with 440 hp provide a system output of 560 hp (412 kW) and maximum system torque of 750 Nm.
In combination with the standard Sport Chrono package, the plug-in Panamera sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 298 km/h. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid thus has a purely electric range in the WLTP city cycle of up to 54 kilometers, which corresponds to 64 kilometers by the old reckoning.
Striking side cooling air openings
The Panamera models now receive the previously optional Sport Design front end with distinctive air intake grilles and prominent side cooling air vents as well as single-line front lights ex factory.
The GTSs feature darkened Exclusive Design taillights as standard. Three new 20- and 21-inch wheels complete the range, so that a total of ten different designs are now available.
Improvement of the online language service
Porsche Communication Management includes additional digital functions and services such as improved online voice control and Risk Radar for up-to-date traffic sign and hazard information. Lane Keeping Assist is standard.
Porsche InnoDrive bundles adaptive cruise control, night vision and lane change assist, LED matrix main headlights including park assist, surround view and head-up display.
Prices start at CHF 121,800 for the Panamera 4, with the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid available from CHF 162,300, the Panamera GTS from CHF 175,400 and the Panamera Turbo S from CHF 230,100.
