The new model is - sorry - no longer a boxy SUV, but a convincing sporty addition to the third-generation Cayenne series. Even purist 911 admirers should be able to make friends with this new coupé. And if you can put a Porsche in your garage, you no longer have to ask yourself the question of either or.
More progressive, more athletic, more emotional
No wonder, enthused the CEO at the world premiere on March 21 in Stuttgart.
Oliver Blume: "We succeeded in creating something typically Porsche sporty, it is the perfect complement. The Coupé includes all the technical highlights of the current Cayenne, but positions itself more progressively, athletically and emotionally thanks to an even more dynamic design and new technical details."
The Head of Design was also emotional and "particularly proud".
Michael Mauer: "The proportions are not only sporty, but also harmonious. Although it's only a few centimeters, it's clear that the Cayenne Coupé has Porsche genes. And it ends in a beautiful back..."
Independent, striking rear section
The roof edge has been lowered by exactly twenty centimeters. As a result, the windshield and the A-pillar are also flatter than on the Cayenne. The redesigned rear doors and fenders widen the shoulders of the coupé variant by 18 millimetres, contributing to the muscular overall impression.
A fixed roof edge spoiler is combined with a new adaptive rear spoiler that is harmoniously integrated into the silhouette. This extends by 135 millimetres from 90 km/h, increasing the downforce on the rear axle.
Fixed glass or carbon panoramic roof
The Cayenne Coupé has a 2.16 square meter panoramic fixed glass roof as standard. A contoured carbon roof, which is part of one of three lightweight sports packages, is available as an option instead. These include new 22-inch wheels in GT design, seat center panels in fabric with a classic check pattern and carbon and Alcantara accents in the interior.
Unlimited space for four people
In the rear, the Coupé has a rear bench seat with individual seat characteristics as standard, in which the passengers sit 30 millimeters lower than in the Cayenne. The trunk capacity is 625 liters and increases to 1540 liters with the rear seats folded down, or from 600 to 1510 liters in the Cayenne Turbo Coupé.
Two engine variants for market launch
The basic version of the Cayenne Coupé is equipped with a 6-cylinder turbo engine with a displacement of three liters, which delivers 340 hp and develops a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The top speed is 243 km/h.
The Cayenne Turbo Coupé with its 550 hp four-liter V8 Biturbo delivers 770 Nm on the track, and is limited to 286 km/h.
