BACK TO THE ROOT As a concept, the 911 Speedster has already caused a sensation. Now the two-seater is going into series production. The low fly line has already left its mark on historical models such as the Porsche 356 Speedster from 1954.

Speedster
Visually, the Speedster builds a bridge to its own history - to its forebear, the 356 "No. 1" Roadster from 1948.

According to the factory, the 911 Speedster is intended to combine the claim of a purist, driver-oriented pleasure vehicle with motorsport technology suitable for everyday use. The 2016 911 R and the 911 GT3 were the inspiration for the development.

Limited edition of 1948 cars
Visually, the new Speedster builds a bridge to its own history - to the forefather of all Porsche sports cars, the 356 "No. 1" Roadster from 1948. The limited edition of the new 911 Speedster is also reminiscent of this: from mid-2019, exactly 1948 examples will be produced at the main plant in Zuffenhausen.

Plastic hood box cover
Speedster elements that characterize the concept car now also characterize the production model in the same or similar design. The focus is on the aesthetically shaped hood compartment lid. It is the largest and most complex component that Porsche has used to date in a single piece made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) for a road model. Two panels in the double hoods clear the way for the stirrups of the rollover protection system when required.

High-rev engine with 510 hp
The new Speedster takes its heart from the 911 GT3. The six-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer engine with a displacement of four liters is a flawless GT powerplant with a peak output of 510 hp. The new 911 Speedster accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in four seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h.

Matching chronograph to the car
The 911 Speedster costs from 351,000 Swiss francs in Switzerland with country-specific equipment. It can be ordered immediately. Swiss customers benefit from an extended warranty (2 + 2) and the Porsche Swiss Package.
The Porsche Design Timepieces chronographs, limited to 1948 pieces, are special gems: the Porsche Design "Chronograph 911 Speedster" and the "Chronograph 911 Speedster Heritage Design" can be ordered exclusively for future owners of a new Speedster model at Porsche Centers from May 2019 for 11 911 francs.
