Piaggio: Nimble small truck for all occasions
WORKING Taurus The Piaggio family gets an important model for the Swiss market with the Porter NP6 4x4. The Group has developed a new powertrain together with Officine Cucini, its partner for all-wheel drive.
The system for the Porter NP6 developed by the experienced specialist Cucini was tested by an Italian rally professional during the first test runs.
With this 4×4 utility vehicle, Piaggio is moving into a segment where there is no comparable vehicle. It is lightweight, has CNG hybrid drive, 4×4 system as well as an excellent payload.
Bi-fuel drive with natural gas or gasoline
The small truck is powered by the new Euro 6d engine, which has a displacement of 1.5 liters and runs on both gasoline and natural gas. Piaggio quotes 106 hp as the maximum output. Shifting is via a 5-speed manual transmission.
In terms of price, the new model starts at 39,900 Swiss francs (chassis cab), and 44,150 Swiss francs are due for the 3-side tipper model. The first vehicles will be delivered in Switzerland from the end of October.
