Here you can see from an unusual perspective how the Peugeot 2008 parks automatically.
Next February, the new Peugeot 2008 will hit our roads. It is 4.30 meters long, 14 centimeters longer than the outgoing model. The e-2008 will be available from July.
The completely redesigned body is typically close to the design of the 208, but compared with the sedan, the city SUV looks more robust and trendy with its high beltline and large wheels. It can accommodate up to five people and up to 1470 liters of luggage...
Comfortable atmosphere in all models
The interior of the new model in the four trim levels Active, Allure, GT Line and GT is significantly more upscale than its predecessor. Seats with Alcantara and Nappa leather as well as a dashboard with soft surfaces create a pleasant atmosphere.
In the GT version, green stitching stands out strikingly against the black seat covers, and in the e-2008 GT, blue-green decorative stitching is combined with gray seat covers.
The touchscreen is located above the toggle buttons, which can be used to quickly activate navigation and phone. The i-cockpit with a small steering wheel, which has been used at Peugeot for some time, is well-known.
Convincing electric drive
On the road, the Electric 2008 knows how to impress. Its 100 kW electric motor with a maximum torque of 260 Nm pulls the city SUV quietly and powerfully over land and along narrow lanes through the city. The 50 kWh battery allows a range of around 310 kilometers, which is usually quite sufficient.
By selecting Eco, Normal and Sport driving programs, the driver varies the engine's power and the steering's tuning. Two recuperation stages during braking make single-pedal operation possible. Despite weighing a good 300 kilograms more than the conventional models, the electric 2008 always feels agile.
Gasoline and diesel up to 155 hp
In addition to the e-2008, there are also other models with gasoline and diesel engines. The three 1.2-liter Pure Tech three-cylinder engines and the two 1.5-liter Blue HDi four-cylinder diesels cover the range between 100 and 155 hp.
Power transmission is provided by a 6-speed manual in the less powerful models and an 8-speed torque converter automatic for the more powerful versions.
No problems with the weight
Both the turbocharged Pure Tech 155 gasoline engine and the Blue HDi 130 turbodiesel have no trouble achieving good performance with the car, which weighs a good 1200 kilograms. Depending on the driver's temperament or future operating conditions, the high-torque diesel or the more torquey gasoline engine is the better solution.
