Ora: Emil Frey brings the Funky Cat
CHINA COMES The Funky Cat from Ora launches in Germany in January. The new brand from Great Wall Motor will be offered by the Emil Frey Group at 200 locations. The 126-kW Stromer aims to score with digital features.
The name takes a little getting used to: Ora calls its first model Funky Cat. Behind the name is a 126 kW (171 hp) electric car from Great Wall Motor. Prices have not yet been set.
Ranges up to 420 kilometers
The Ora Funky Cat will be available with two different sized batteries (48 and 63 kWh) for up to 420 kilometers of range. At the top is the GT version. Ora promises a digital operating environment from Face ID to extensive voice control. The Funky Cat will even be able to play a quiz with its occupants.
New ideas and individuality
The company immediately provides the explanation for the unusual name: Funky describes the unconventional way of filling one's life with lots of joy, new ideas and individuality, and Cat is the Chinese expression for a true friend and companion. The brand name is a symbol. It means open, reliable (dependable) and alternative.
Nevertheless, the new car has already been awarded five stars by Euro NCAP. There is (unfortunately) no information on a Swiss market launch yet.
