SUVs are in, all-wheel drive is in, and so is the plug-in hybrid: three good reasons to choose an Opel Grandland X Hybrid4. The model, which is optionally available with a black hood, combines a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine and two electric motors as power sources. The units deliver a system output of 300 hp.
Up to 50 km/h purely electric
Using the energy from the 13.2 kWh battery, the front electric motor transmits its power to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the second electric motor and the differential are installed in the rear axle. This makes the Grandland X Hybrid4 a 4×4 vehicle with the best traction. It drives up to 50 kilometers purely on electric power, covering around 80 percent of average driving distances.
Electric, hybrid, all-wheel drive or sport
The driver selects from electric, hybrid, all-wheel drive and sport driving modes according to requirements and the type of route. For maximum energy recovery, there is Regeneration on Demand, making one-pedal driving possible. To make the most of the 300-V high-voltage system, the Grandland has an electric air-conditioning compressor and electric heating. Sales are scheduled to start in the coming weeks. The environmentally friendly Blitz will roll out to the first customers early next year.
