The vehicle has a 92 millimeter longer wheelbase, which allows more space in the interior and offers more room in particular for passengers in the rear. Added to this are numerous top technologies that make driving even safer, more relaxed and more comfortable. The highlight is the second generation of the innovative, award-winning adaptive IntelliLux LED matrix light, which now features 32 LED segments arranged in a row - twice as many as in the Astra - even in the Insignia's visually revised narrow light units.

Also an eight-speed automatic at the sales launch
The Insignia Grand Sport is as sporty on the outside as it is on the road. At the market launch, it will be available with a wide range of turbocharged engines and the latest generation of transmissions. A completely new addition to the range is the friction-optimized eight-speed automatic transmission. It is initially available exclusively in combination with all-wheel drive. The new drive system with torque vectoring is said to be the most sophisticated system in its class and comes in combination with a new five-link rear axle.

The world premiere of the Opel Insignia Grand Sport will take place at the next Geneva Motor Show (March 9-19, 2017 at Palexpo).
