With the new 1.6 BiTurbo CDTI under the hood, the "Car of the Year 2016" accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, completes the intermediate sprint from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear in just 7.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h. In addition to the contemporary consumption figures, the responsiveness is one of the strengths of the new top engine with 160 hp. The 6-speed manual transmission also matches this. Both Astra body versions, the five-door as well as the Sports Tourer station wagon, benefit from the new lightweight architecture. Digital networking with the help of smartphone connectivity and the Opel OnStar online and service assistant make the Opel Astra a driving experience time and again.
