Real professionals sat at the wheel of the Astra for the driving shots on a specially cordoned-off area.
Three documentary videos tracing the vehicle's development from the first stroke of the pen to the finished production model will complement the campaign in the coming weeks. We can look forward with anticipation.
30-year success story of the model
The Rüsselsheim-based company is presenting the sixth, completely newly developed generation of the compact class bestseller. A design gem with Opel Vizor, fully digital Pure Panel and top technologies such as the latest version of the adaptive Intelli-Lux LED pixel light.
With the newcomer, the German manufacturer is opening the next chapter in the now 30-year Astra success story.
Plug-in hybrid and from 2023 purely electric
For the first time, the compact class model from Rüsselsheim will also be available in electric form, and in three variants. Opel will offer the new Astra as a plug-in hybrid in two performance levels as well as a purely battery-electric Astra-e from 2023.
This is complemented by versions with highly efficient gasoline and diesel engines in combination with particularly low-friction 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmissions.
Production at the headquarters in Rüsselsheim
The new Opel Astra will initially be launched as a sporty five-door model with coupe-like lines; the Astra Sports Tourer station wagon version will follow shortly. One year after the market launch of the new generation, the battery-electric Opel Astra-e will follow.
The new Astra was designed and developed at Opel's headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and it will also be produced here. Swiss equipment and prices have not yet been determined.
