Nissan: The Leaf in the Norwegian Bibber test
To mark the European market launch of the Leaf, which is equipped with a more powerful 30 kWh battery, Nissan produced a short film in the freezing cold Norwegian Norefjell. Company CEO Jack Stensland: "I've never frozen an electric car before. But this sounded like an exciting task, and the end result is spectacular." A few minutes after the action starts, the 65-millimeter-thick ice shell slowly begins to melt - but not thanks to the rays of the polar sun, but via the defroster function triggered by the driver from the neighboring apartment building. A press of an icon on his smartphone is all it takes to heat up the interior to a pleasant warmth before setting off - whereupon the Film Leaf gradually sheds its coat of ice. In addition to the further optimized preheating via smartphone or PC, customers of the new 30-kWh Leaf also benefit from a 26-percent increase in range to up to 250 kilometers.
According to desire or need purchase or rent
As with the previous Nissan Leaf with 24-kWh batteries, customers of the more powerful model can also rent the battery for a monthly fee of, for example, 95 francs for 36 months including 12,500 kilometers per year. The purchase cost is thus reduced by 6500 to 28 310 francs in the Acenta and 31 610 francs in the Tekna trim. The rental costs also include a mobility service.
