The day before yesterday, the new Volvo XC40 made its debut in Milan. As a compact SUV, it is intended for people with an "urban" lifestyle.

The new XC40 brings the safety, connectivity and infotainment solutions from Volvo's new 90 and 60 models to the compact SUV segment.

Digital key
One highlight: thanks to "digital key" technology, the XC40 can be shared directly with friends and family even without a physical key. This new car sharing function is available as standard for customers in Switzerland, as is the proven Volvo On Call technology.

Available for order now
The new XC40, equipped with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission, is available to order now. The entry-level version (T3 gasoline engine) will be available from spring 2018 starting at 35,500 Swiss francs.

New architecture
The Volvo XC40 is the first model on Volvo's modular vehicle architecture CMA. The CMA platform will form the basis for all future models in the Volvo 40 series, including fully electric vehicles. At launch, the compact SUV is available with a T5 four-cylinder gasoline engine and a D4 diesel engine - with the T3 gasoline engine also available from spring 2018. Other engine options will follow, including a hybrid option and an all-electric version, according to the supplier. In addition, Volvo's new three-cylinder engine will also soon make its debut in the XC40. Market launch of the new model in Switzerland is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018.
