Toyota offers the Land Cruiser in over 190 countries worldwide. For more than 60 years, it has been regarded as the off-road legend par excellence.
New features
New steering-assist technologies such as a Torsen Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) for the rear axle and a Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) system with additional Auto mode, which perfectly tunes the vehicle to the terrain, are on board. A new 360-degree camera in conjunction with the Multi-Terrain Monitor provides the driver with an underbody view, an important aid for excursions into rough terrain.
Optics adjusted
According to the supplier, the Land Cruiser has also undergone a number of visual modifications. The redesigned hood, for example, is intended to provide better visibility to the front. In addition, the driver can better estimate the vehicle width thanks to the raised fender edge. With a length of 4.84 meters (three-door 4.565 meters), the vehicle has grown by 60 millimeters in length. Nevertheless, it features a small turning circle with a turning radius of 5.8 meters (five-door) or 5.2 meters (three-door).
Five equipment variants
In addition to visual innovations, newly designed LED taillights, LED daytime running lights (already in the basic equipment) and the alloy wheels available in 17- or 19-inch format give the off-roader a dynamic appearance, according to the manufacturer. The Land Cruiser will be launched in Switzerland in five different trim levels. From the basic "Profi" model, which is likely to be of interest mainly to business customers, to the luxurious "Premium" equipment.
New motorization
With the launch of the new Land Cruiser, Toyota is offering another engine variant in addition to the existing 2.8 l D-4D turbodiesel engine with 177 hp, which is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. The new four-cylinder engine produces 200 hp and has a torque of 500 Nm (factory figures). A six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic is also used. Prices start at 34,200 Swiss francs (Profi equipment, 177 hp) and 35,600 Swiss francs (Profi equipment, 200 hp).
