With the 2018 model year, the Forester AWD 2.0i Lineartronic in the "Swiss Plus" version is now also available with the EyeSight driving safety system.
Various wizards combined
The EyeSight driving safety system, familiar from the Outback AWD and Levorg AWD, combines various assistants to create a tightly woven safety net. A central component is the emergency braking system with collision warning, which automatically initiates emergency braking if the driver fails to react. This makes it possible to avoid accidents up to a speed difference of 50 km/h or at least minimize the consequences of the accident.
Hold lane
Lane Keeping Assist not only warns the driver of an unintentional lane departure, but also brings the vehicle back on course with a steering impulse if necessary. Lane Keeping Assist, which is also standard, also detects if the driver is driving "snaking lines" for a longer period of time and sounds the alarm. The Eyesight driving safety system is rounded off by adaptive distance and speed control (congestion assistant). In addition, with the Advanced Safety Package, the Forester AWD Swiss Plus offers radar-based blind-spot and rear cross-traffic assist and a side-view monitor.
Engine selection
The Forester AWD offers various engine/transmission combinations, such as a 2.0-liter diesel boxer engine with automatic Lineartronic with manual mode or as a manually shifted version. Two boxer gasoline engines with a choice of 150 hp (2.0i) or 240 hp (2.0XT turbo) are also available. The XT and Boxer diesel models with Lineartronic transmission offer an optional towing capacity of 2500 kg. The Forester AWD with EyeSight will be available in Switzerland from September at a price starting at 37,500 Swiss francs.
