The Mitsubishi Eclipse was once a successful sports car with 1.5 million units sold. The new model was derived directly from the XR-PHEV II study. Mitsubishi decided on the name "Eclipse Cross" to bring sportiness to the fore.
The vehicle is powered either by a 2.2-liter direct-injection turbocharged diesel engine with 8-speed automatic transmission or a 1.5-liter direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine with 6-speed or automatic transmission.
The Eclipse Cross will be available with front-wheel drive or the 4×4 drive system S-AWC (electronic all-wheel drive plus active yaw moment control). The driver is supported by a wide range of assistance systems, and the brand's new design language is seamlessly continued in the high-quality, modern interior.
