Mini: Electric Cooper turns final tests 🎥
The next generation of the Mini family is being launched with the Cooper Electric. The new edition of the three-door pure electric car will be available in Switzerland in two performance levels.
The all-electric Mini Cooper SE, which was launched in 2020, already recorded a 25.5 percent increase in sales in 2022 and became by far the most popular Mini model. Today, one in five Mini models rolls up to the customer with an electric drive.
More agility and stability
In the new Mini family, full torque is available from the first meter in both the Mini Cooper E with 135 kW output and the Mini Cooper SE with 160 kW. The car accelerates without delay and without shift interruptions. The lithium-ion high-voltage storage system is located in the floor of the Electric, where its low center of gravity ensures greater agility and stability, enabling the go-kart feeling typical of the brand.
Range up to 400 kilometers
The battery capacity in the Mini Cooper E is 40.7 kWh, while the Cooper SE achieves 54.2 kWh. This gives the new models a range of between 300 and 400 kilometers, noticeably extending the radius for urban excursions and beyond.
Together with the Mini Countryman, which will be produced at the BMW Group plant in Leipzig from November 2023, the new Mini Cooper Electric is in the starting blocks for Mini's all-electric future. From 2024, the Mini Aceman will complete the new model family.
