The brand now belongs to the Chinese SAIC Group, which also has joint production with Volkswagen, among others. Production of the electric SUVs destined for export has now begun at a new factory in Ningde in eastern China. SAIC invested almost 700 million Swiss francs in the production facilities, which have a maximum annual capacity of 240,000 vehicles.
Various production sites
The first model produced there was a plug-in version of the MG HS, a compact crossover that will also be offered on the European continent. In addition to the HS and EZS, MG also produces a plug-in variant of the MG 6 sedan in China. Besides China, the brand's production sites also include Thailand and India.

In the Netherlands, the Chinese charge a good 30,000 Swiss francs for the ZS EV, and for that the customer gets a full-fledged SUV with five seats (two with Isofix safety) distributed in a 4.32-meter-long body. The wheelbase of 2.58 meters promises pleasant space conditions. The electric SUV is powered by a 105 kW (143 hp) electric motor.
