Mercedes wants to attract new and younger customers with the attractive four-door coupé CLA. What was successful in the first generation should also bring sales success in the new edition, as the CLA has become even more elegant and sporty.
Longer, wider and significantly lower
Typical features are the lower front end with the inclined radiator grille as in the CLS and GT, the large wheels, the frameless doors and the softly contoured sides. Compared to the first generation, the new model has become longer, wider, lower and more streamlined.
Inside, it impresses with pleasant materials and the familiar MBUX widescreen concept, i.e. high-resolution screens, head-up display, navigation and the "Hey Mercedes" communication system, as well as the new gesture control for various comfort functions.
Wide range of drive variants
With petrol and diesel engines, manual and dual-clutch transmissions as well as front-wheel and all-wheel drive, Mercedes offers a wide range of drive variants in the CLA. Petrol engines with 136 to 224 hp and diesel engines with 150 and 190 hp, all of which meet the latest emissions standards, are combined with front-wheel or 4Matic drive.
Adjustable dampers are available as an option
The two most powerful engine versions are convincing on the road. Both the 224 hp petrol engine in the CLA 250 and the 190 hp diesel engine in the CLA 220 d respond briskly to gas pedal commands. The driving dynamics of the CLA have been improved by widening the front and rear track, and adjustable damping is also available as an option.
Several AMG spin-offs coming later
Those who no longer want to travel without all-wheel drive can opt for the CLA 250 4Matic or the CLA 220 4Matic from May. The CLA 220 d and several AMG derivatives will follow later. The price of the new CLA ranges from 42,200 (CLA 180 6-speed) to 54,400 francs (CLA 250 4-Matic 7G-DCT).
