Mercedes-AMG: Sporty genes for the GLC
HYBRIDTECHNIK Following the presentation of the GLC SUV, Mercedes-AMG now presents the GLC Coupé, which completes the midsize model series. The model combines stylish design with sporty driving dynamics.
Two model variants are available: the GLC 63 S E Performance Coupé starts with 680 hp system output, and the GLC 43 4Matic version delivers 421 hp plus a short-term boost of 14 hp via the belt-driven starter generator.
Track Pace for the race track
The standard equipment of the new model includes the 9-speed Speedshift MCT automatic transmission, rear-axle steering, all-wheel drive and Ride Control suspension with adaptive damping. In the interior, seats in Artico man-made leather add a sporty touch. Leather upholstery with embossed AMG crest or performance seats are available as options. The MBUX infotainment system includes various AMG-specific displays and functions. The AMG Track Pace data logger is also integrated for use on the race track.
Turbocharger with electric power
The heart of the AMG GLC Coupé is the 2-liter four-cylinder engine. The engine was not only developed entirely in Affalterbach, but is also manufactured there in accordance with the "one man, one engine" principle in manufactory quality. the engine is charged by an electric exhaust turbocharger via the additional 48-volt electrical system. A slim electric motor is integrated directly on the shaft of the turbocharger, which accelerates the compressor wheel before the exhaust gas flow takes over the drive.
Speed 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds
The 150 kW electric motor is positioned on the rear axle and integrated into the Electric Drive Unit with a 2-speed transmission and limited-slip differential. The system output of 680 hp and the maximum system torque of 1020 Nm in the GL 63 enable impressive driving performance: A speed of 100 km/h is reached in 3.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 275 km/h.
From its market launch, the GLC 63 S E Performance Coupé can be ordered as an exclusive Edition 1 in the body colors graphite gray magno or high-tech silver magno for one year.
