The McLaren Elva has no roof, side windows or rear window, which brings it to a dry weight of under 1300 kilograms. The windshieldless Elva is McLaren Automotive's lightest road car to date.
From 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds
The version with the heated windshield wipers and sun visor weighs about 20 kilograms more, the AAMS is omitted.
Either way, the mid-mounted 815-hp 4.0-liter V8 engine has an easy time of it. All Elva accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
Dynamic performance and vehicle stiffness also remain unchanged compared with the windshieldless car. However, the fixed windshield is not intended to diminish driving pleasure in any way.
Increasing interest in custom products
Created as a tribute to Bruce McLaren's legendary race cars, historic paint schemes like the prototype shown in Satin Casa Blue have captured the imagination of Elva owners.
The demand for custom builds of this type by McLaren Special Operations has produced a number of unique cars that stand out among even the rarest McLarens. No more than 149 examples of the Elva are specified and built to customer order. Swiss pricing is available upon request.
