Building on the electrification expertise of the McLaren P1 hybrid hypercar launched in 2012 and the recently introduced Hyper-GT Speedtail (top speed 403 km/h), the McLaren Artura is the British brand's first production hybrid supercar.

Like a large displacement V8
The Artura marks the debut of a compact V6 gasoline engine with two turbochargers. Together with an electric motor, it is to be combined in a new, lightweight high-performance hybrid powertrain. The performance advantages of McLaren's larger displacement V8 engines are retained.

They offer the added appeal of improved low-speed performance for fulminant acceleration. The Artura can also run solely on electric power for everyday zero-emission city driving.

McLaren is not yet showing more than the radiator grille. The Artura represents a new era for the British brand.

Roots in motorsport
The Artura is the first car based on a brand-new platform architecture optimized for electrification. It is designed and manufactured in the UK at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre. With it, McLaren is furthering its commitment to the principles of super lightweight construction, which have their roots in motorsport.

The additional mass of the high-performance hybrid system, for example, was largely offset by the application of weight-saving technologies throughout the chassis, body and powertrain.

On sale from 2021
Further details about the McLaren Artura, which will go on sale in the first half of 2021, will be announced in the coming months. Customers who wish to be kept up to date can register their interest either at a McLaren dealer or via the homepage.
