The CX-5 rolls into Swiss dealerships in June as a 2.2-liter diesel and a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, and in August as a 2.5-liter gasoline engine. Prices start at 28,900 Swiss francs for the Ambition version (2.0-liter gasoline, 165 hp, 4×2, manual transmission) and go up to 46,300 Swiss francs for the Revolution version (2.2-liter diesel, 175 hp, 4×4, manual transmission). The G-Vectoring Control (GVC) engine management system provides comprehensive control of the engine, transmission and chassis. Also new are the head-up display and power tailgate with remote control. Safety technology includes traffic sign recognition, City Emergency Brake Assist and adaptive cruise control, which regulates the distance to other vehicles until the vehicle comes to a standstill. To restart, all that is needed afterwards is a simple press of the accelerator pedal or a tap of the gearshift on the steering wheel.
Not only has the engine become quieter, but the passenger cell is also better soundproofed thanks to optimized door seals, better-fitted body parts and the use of soundproofing materials in the substructure, rear console and car roof and door trim. Inside, there were several stylistic enhancements, such as a new design of the steering wheel and the center console, which has been raised higher. The new multi-information display features a 4.6-inch color LCD/TFT screen with improved graphics.
