However, it will still be around one and a half years until then. The Gladiator has a maximum towing capacity of 3470 kilograms and a payload of up to 725 kilograms. The fording depth of the off-roader with gear reduction and limited-slip differentials and 33-inch wheels is up to 76 centimeters.
The basis of the Gladiator is the new Wrangler
The pickup is based on the platform of the new Wrangler and shares its design and body up to the B-pillar. But then the Jeep Gladiator extends to 5.54 meters in length (79 centimeters longer than the Wrangler) and offers a cargo area around 1.50 meters long. Customers have a choice of two bodies for the Jeep Gladiator: Closed with a hardtop and folding roof. The windshield can be folded down in typical Jeep fashion, and the aluminum doors can be removed.
Initially 285 or 260 hp with V6 engines
On the American market, the Gladiator will be powered by either a 3.6-liter gasoline engine or 3.0-liter diesel (from 2020). The V6 engines produce 285 or 260 hp. In addition to an 8-speed automatic, there is an optional 6-speed manual transmission. Prices and market launch for Switzerland have not yet been determined.
