You can control important functions of the Lexus UX 300e via a smartphone app.
The Lexus UX 300e is the first result of the new model strategy. It is also launched as a battery-electric version with the unusual design of the conventionally powered version. Externally, the electric UX is distinguished primarily by the aerodynamically optimized wheels and an underbody cover.
Range up to 400 kilometers
In developing the first electric Lexus, the developers drew on the experience gained with hybrid models. The 54.3 kWh battery, which is equipped with temperature management, is located under the floor of the car, as is common in most electric vehicles, thus enabling a low center of gravity.
The energy storage system also has a charge control system to ensure protection against overcharging. The UX platform has been adapted to electric operation with additional struts and modified shock absorbers. Lexus promises a range of 400 kilometers.
Control via smartphone app
The battery charge status and the charging process can be displayed via a smartphone app. It can also be used to control the climate control system, seat heating and windshield de-icer, among other things. The front-mounted engine has an output of 150 kW and a maximum torque of 300 Newton meters, which is available from the start.
The market launch of the UX 300e for Europe is planned for next year.
