Lexus: NX combines performance and efficiency
STECKERHYBRID With the new NX 450h+, the brand's first plug-in hybrid model, Lexus aims to combine the potential of this hybrid system with its many years of in-house experience in the field of self-charging systems.
Thanks to Toyota subsidiary Lexus' more than 15 years of experience with electrified vehicles, the new NX 450+ SUV is now set to set the benchmark in the plug-in hybrid segment - with a combination of performance and efficiency.
The purely electric range is 70 to 74 kilometers in the combined WLTP test cycle, and even 89 to 97 kilometers are possible in the city cycle alone. In addition, the Lexus can be driven electrically up to a speed of 135 km/h.
PHEV with efficient combustion engine
The newcomer's plug-in hybrid system combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine operating on the Atkinson cycle with an electric motor and an 18-kWh lithium-ion battery.
This can be fully charged either at a 32 A station or with the 6.6 kW on-board charger in around two and a half hours. In the standard e-Four all-wheel drive system, a second electric motor drives the rear wheels if required.
NX 350h with significantly increased performance
In parallel with the NX 450+, the NX 350h, the self-charging hybrid model, also benefits from extensive technical upgrades. Compared to the previous NX 300h, the fourth-generation powertrain system is 24 percent more powerful at 244 hp, improving acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in the AWD model to 7.7 seconds.
In addition to improved performance, the new NX models bring the luxurious Takumi finish to every design detail.
