Lexus: This is the fifth generation of the RX 🎥

FOLLOWER Lexus' luxury SUV, the RX, comes in its fifth generation with three hybrid options. An all-electric version will not roll into dealerships until the next generation.

The new RX uses the optimized GA-K platform, which the developers promise will enable a lower center of gravity and improved body rigidity. From its predecessor, the engineers and designers took over just five percent of the parts.

The design continues the brand's design language, including the bulky Diablo grille with compact headlights and a coupe-like roofline, as well as a light bar at the rear that extends across the entire width of the vehicle.

The fifth edition of the premium SUV will arrive towards the end of the year as a plug-in hybrid with a range of 65 kilometers.

Generous space in the rear
In the interior, the creatives chose noble and excellently finished materials, and customers can also order pet-free leather. Thanks to the six-centimeter increase in wheelbase (with unchanged exterior length), there is also generous space in the rear.

The driver-facing cockpit with its 14-inch touch-sensitive screen is clearly arranged and enables intuitive operation. The ambient lighting offers a total of 64 colors and 14 different themes. There should be something to suit every taste.

Less weight, improved chassis
Compared with its predecessor, the RX has become 90 kilograms lighter. The chassis has been thoroughly revised and is now said to significantly reduce noise and vibrations.

There is a choice of three powertrain variants with electric all-wheel drive. In the basic RX 350h version, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combines with an electric motor to produce a system output of 245 hp.

The plug-in hybrid version RX 450h+ also uses the 2.5-liter gasoline engine as well as an 18.1 kWh battery and comes to an output of 306 hp.
The most powerful version arrives at dealerships as the RX 500h and produces 371 hp, which is transmitted to the drive wheels via a six-speed automatic.

Help via voice assistant "Hey Lexus
The multimedia system has also been updated and is now faster, and buttons also allow quick access to frequently used functions. The system can be communicated with via the "Hey Lexus" voice assistant. The Lexus Link app can now also be used to check the battery charge status and schedule charging.

The safety assistants have been supplemented by the new Safe Exit Assist function. It combines the electromechanical door opening system E-Latch with the blind spot assistant. It prevents the door from unlocking if the system detects an approaching cyclist or pedestrian.
