The Essenza SCV12 is the most exciting sports car Lamborghini has built to date.
The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 features technical solutions from the world of racing. The V12 engine delivers more than 830 hp. The exhaust tailpipes, developed in collaboration with Capristo, reduce the backpressure and thus ensure higher performance as well as an unmistakable engine sound. This power is transmitted to the rear axle via a 6-speed transmission from X-trac.
Innovative solutions
The power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 kilograms per horsepower is achieved thanks to a new carbon fiber monocoque frame without a steel roll cage. The Essenza SCV12 is also the first GT to meet the safety standards of the future FIA prototype regulations for races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer Automobili Lamborghini: "In no other vehicle is the naturally aspirated V12 engine, symbol of our brand from 1963 to the present day, shown to such advantage as in the Essenza SCV12. In this project, sophisticated aerodynamics, futuristic design and innovative solutions meet engineering at its best. The result is a breathtaking, uncompromising vehicle born for the racetrack and boasting all those virtues that have made Lamborghini internationally famous."
Memory of the 70s
The aerodynamics are the result of Lamborghini Squadra Corse's GT racing experience and, at 1.2 tons at 250 km/h, provide more efficiency and downforce than a GT3 car.
The design comes from the creative pen of Lamborghini Centro Stile, which has designed all the racing cars from Sant'Agata Bolognese since Squadra Corse was founded. The dynamic lines combine the fascination of the prototypes from the 1970s with typical elements of Lamborghini DNA such as the hexagonal geometry found on the headlights, the air scoop on the roof and the ventilation grilles around the steering wheel.
Exclusive club
The Essenza SCV12 will be built in a limited series of 40 units. Buyers will become members of an exclusive club that will grant access to special driving programs that will allow the hypercar to be used on the world's most prestigious race tracks. The racing calendar will start in 2021 with "Arrive and Drive" events at different tracks.
